Just got here, walked into the room and it was very cold and uninviting. There is no carpet, which I can understand since pets are allowed, but the floor has dips and it is noticeable. One semi comfortable stained chair. The chair is visibly dirty. 2 other chairs are in the room but they are hard wooden chairs like you would find in schools. I saw the bed and it is a full size not a queen which I paid for. Went to the desk but receptionist stated that all rooms with one bed are queen. I went back to the room and looked up dimensions of full and queen size beds. It's a full size bed..... pulled the top cover off to get into the bed and noticed a dirty stain in the shape of a footprint on my fitted sheet! Bed is uncomfortable and the pillows are more like prison pillows. Typically sheets are cheap at motels but these are even worse. Paint is chipped off the wall. No coffee pot, dryer, shampoo or body wash. Are they not suppose to have these? The bathroom is in a closet with an industrial looking door. Some hair on the tub rim and on the mattress. On the positive side I looked for and did not see any bed bugs! More like a run down hospital room with dirty furniture. I understand that for 2 nights it costs me $170 and that is pretty cheap for Duluth. There is a terrible smell outside smells like manure. Pew! It did have a microwave and fridge which are of no use to me but they do have them in this room anyway. There is no iron or board but if you ask front desk they are happy to help and get one to use. Coffee is only available in the morning in the entryway. Will not stay at a motel 6 again. I typically go for a nicer place to stay but was on a budget for work. Next time I will gladly pay out of pocket for a different higher end motel.
My husband and I weren't here much, other than to just sleep and clean up. The staff were nice. The beds were comfortable. The rooms had wooden floors. I'd like to say the rooms were probably just remodeled not too long ago.
Probably would stay again. Have had better nights across the bay in Superior though.
The room was very spacious and the sink was very clean and stocked with product. The bathroom wreaked like someone had just used it. The customer service at the front desk was phenomenal. Overall a great one night stay. If I were staying in Duluth longer, I would try to find somewhere else due to having only a view of a parking lot and not a super great, but not a super bad location.
Checking in was fast and easy. The motel is close to a bar and restaurant. Our room was clean, but the faux hardwood floor kind of threw me off, had never seen that before.
Overall, it was affordable for us and was a great stay.
Bathrooms still need finishing touches, Tubs and baseboards. Pictures on the walls would be nice too, or more mirrors..?? Vending machines, coffee pots in rooms or at least Coffee at both ends of the building would be great. But all in all it was way nicer than the last time we stayed. I look forward to see what other changes are coming.
Had a complaint about our upstairs neighbor overnight at 2am in the morning. One call to the front desk cleared up the issue. I guess that's what to expect at this price.
I rated this a 4 star because wifi wasn't free. There was a fee of $2.99+ if you wanted to access it. However, it's understandable for the price we paid for.
Thank you!
The remodel job is looking good from the last time I was there.
